I finally found a way of speaking that made sense of the world
THIS IS A LETTER FROM ONE OF OUR READERS

In High school I had always wanted to love poetry. But there were often too many technicalities. In teaching poetry, they dissected the life out of it.
I loved it half-heartedly, not knowing what I loved, not sure that I meant it. Until I stumbled on your blog. I found Read A Little Poetry and finally found a way of speaking that made sense of the world. Even when it’s ugly, there’s a sense of triumph that you get when you can at least make sense of it, when you can artfully and beautifully craft bits of it.
I feel weird about writing this way, with this level of intimacy to a complete stranger. I have a sense that you’re far away from me geographically, racially, culturally. Despite that, because of your blog I feel a little connected to you, as non-reciprocal as it is. Isn’t it strange how human beings, as terrible as we are, can make friends out of complete strangers?
Anyway. I started writing in 2014. Poetry and short stories. In part because of you and your blog. In part because you did. So I want to thank you, whoever you are.
Take care of yourself. You matter.
Much love,
M.
