Join us: Poetry gatherings supporting RALP’s 20th year
After 20 years of sharing poems online, we’re gathering to read them together—live, across time zones, in community.
This November, I, together with the lovely Sophie Howarth, are hosting four Tuesday poetry gatherings via Zoom to support Read A Little Poetry’s next chapter. Each session explores poems around a theme, with time for reflection, conversation, and connection.
You don’t need to be a poet. You don’t need to know anything about poetry. You just need to want to be here.
The Gatherings
Tuesday, November 4: Asking for Help
What does it mean to ask? To admit we can’t do it alone? We’ll read poems about vulnerability, reaching out, and the courage it takes to say: I need you.
Tuesday, November 11: Receiving with Grace
How do we let ourselves be helped? Be held? We’ll explore poems about opening our hands, accepting gifts, and learning to say thank you.
Tuesday, November 18: The Gift of Giving
What does it mean to give freely? We’ll read poems about generosity, offering what we have, and the joy of being useful to one another.
Tuesday, November 25: Reciprocity & Community
How do we care for each other? Build networks of mutual aid? We’ll close the series with poems about interdependence, belonging, and what we create together.

Why these gatherings?
For 20 years, Read A Little Poetry has been free and ad-free—a labour of love, sustained by one person. These gatherings are about more than fundraising. They’re about what poetry does best: bringing us together, reminding us we’re not alone, and building the communities that sustain us.
If you’ve found comfort in these poems over the years, we’d love to see you there.
