Kevin Young

Born: 8 November 1970

Kevin Young, born in 1970, received his BA from Harvard University in 1992. Young’s poetry collections include Night Watch, Stones, which was short-listed for the T. S. Eliot Prize; Brown; Book of Hours, winner of the 2015 Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize from the Academy of American Poets; To Repel Ghosts, which was a finalist for the James Laughlin Award; and Most Way Home. In 2020, Young was elected a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets. He is also currently the director of the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC). (Source)
